Privacy Policy
This Policy explains how personal data is handled when you use Need2Check, a property inspection app for recording property information, photos, findings and PDF reports.
1. Data controller
The data controller is Zsombor Varkonyi, Hungary. Contact: need2checkapp@gmail.com.
2. How the app works
Inspection information, photos and PDF reports are primarily stored and processed locally on your device. Ordinary inspection records and photos are not uploaded to Firebase cloud storage. The app does not use AI to analyse inspections and does not make automated decisions or profiling that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
3. Account information
The first five inspections are available without an account. An account is required for certain Professional functionality. Account-related information may include your email address, Firebase user identifier, authentication/account metadata and email-verification status. Firebase Authentication handles authentication credentials; Need2Check does not store your password in readable form.
4. Inspection data and reports
Inspection records and photos stay on your device unless you choose a feature that transmits report information, such as emailing a report. PDF reports are generated on your device. You are responsible for managing your device and backups.
5. Subscriptions and payments
After the initial five-inspection allowance, further inspections require an active Professional subscription. Purchases are made through Google Play, which handles payment and billing. Need2Check does not receive or store full payment-card or bank-account details. RevenueCat facilitates subscription integration and may process limited account and subscription identifiers for that purpose.
6. Firebase and technical services
Need2Check uses Firebase Core, Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Functions to support app initialization, account authentication and verification, Professional entitlement information, and backend processing for selected features. Inspection records and photos are not stored in Firestore or Firebase Storage as part of ordinary inspection use.
7. Device permissions
- Camera: take inspection photos.
- Photos/media: select or access images for inspections.
- Internet/network: account and authentication functions, Professional entitlement and subscription-related functionality, and report email.
8. Purposes and legal bases
Data is used to provide account features, authenticate users, manage Professional access, support subscription functionality, deliver requested report emails, maintain security, prevent abuse, respond to support requests and meet legal obligations. Depending on the activity, the legal basis may be contract performance, legitimate interests, legal obligation or consent where legally required.
9. Emailing a report
Professional users may request email delivery to the email address registered to their Need2Check account. The app sends the request to a Firebase Cloud Function, which prepares delivery through Resend. Reports are sent only to the registered account email address, not an arbitrary third-party address. Resend may process the recipient email address, delivery metadata, message content and PDF attachment, including inspection details and photos. Need2Check does not retain a copy merely because it is emailed; delivery is not guaranteed.
10. Sharing and service providers
Need2Check does not sell personal data and does not share personal data for cross-context behavioural advertising. Service providers may process data needed to operate features, including Firebase, RevenueCat, Google Play and Resend. Their applicable privacy notices, data-processing terms and contractual arrangements also apply and may change.
11. Retention
Account information is retained while your account is active or as otherwise needed for these purposes and legal requirements. Entitlement information is retained as needed to operate subscription access. Local inspection data, photos and reports remain on your device until you delete them, clear app data or uninstall the app, subject to device and backup behaviour. Email providers apply their own retention practices.
12. Account deletion
You can request account deletion using the in-app function. Account data held by Firebase is deleted through that process, subject to legally required retention. Deleting your Need2Check account does not cancel a Google Play subscription; cancel it separately in Google Play. Local inspections and photos are separate from your Firebase account and may remain on your device.
13. Security and international transfers
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect data, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure. Some providers may process data outside the EEA, including in the United States. Where required, appropriate transfer safeguards are relied upon; provider arrangements may change.
14. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, object to processing, request portability or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Contact need2checkapp@gmail.com. You may also complain to a competent supervisory authority, including Hungary’s National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH).
15. Children and legal capacity
Need2Check is not directed at children. Users who create an account must have the legal capacity to enter into the applicable agreement, or use the app with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian where required by law.
16. Other people’s information
If inspection notes, photos or reports contain personal data about another person, you are responsible for having an appropriate legal basis and any required permissions.
